Field Trip: Explore Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge
Join Naturalist-in-Residence Tait Johansson for high tide in the bay, which sends shorebirds in impressive numbers to the refuge’s impoundments. You should also see herons, egrets, Glossy Ibis, and many others! Bring binoculars, lunch, sunscreen, plenty of cold drinks, and boots you don’t mind getting muddy. Depart Bylane 8:45am or meet at Visitors Center at 10am. Cost: Free. Level of difficulty: Easy to moderate.
