Green Drinks Westchester: Tuesday, May 28, New Rochelle, NY

Green Drinks Westchester

Lea Cullen Boyer of Green Guru Network & Dani Glaser of Green Team Spirit have been the co-organizers of Green Drinks Westchester since September 2010.
We are thrilled that the next Green Drinks Westchester event will be hosted by transFORM Gallery featuring a special Earth Day art exhibit entitled, Re-Imagining Past Possessions, Works of Recycled Materials, presented by transFORM Gallery and Elisa Contemporary Art.

Founded in 2009, the gallery is the unique combination of a traditional showroom for transFORM’s custom designed storage systems, and a contemporary art gallery hosting many diverse exhibitions a year. Since it’s opening, transFORM Gallery has collaborated with local artists and community arts organizations to support the advancement of the arts.

This Earth Day tribute focuses on how discarded materials are transformed into Artwork. The international roster of artists use recycled and discarded materials including newspaper and magazines, screws, nuts, door knobs and corrugated metal siding, tools, mail and fabrics including ties and discarded clothing.
We appreciate your loyal participation to make Green Drinks Westchester fun and meaningful for all of us. Please invite others who would like to be part of this growing community!!  R.S.V.P.'s are appreciated!

Our Town--Our Planet: Complete Streets and Safe Paths, May 7, Somers

Launching Somers Sustainability Action Plan
Join us at the Somers Library
May 7 at 7:00pm
Complete Streets & Safe Paths
·           How we are transforming Somers streets /paths.  Making the streets of Somers easier and safer for biking/walking.  Join Team Leader Rick Warren.

The streets of our cities and towns are an important part of the livability of our communities. They ought to be for everyone, whether young or old, motorist or bicyclist, walker or wheelchair user, bus rider or shopkeeper. But too many of our streets are designed only for speeding cars, or worse, creeping traffic jams.

Now, in communities across the country, a movement is growing to complete the streets. States, cities and towns are asking their planners and engineers to build road networks that are safer, more livable, and welcoming to everyone. Join us to make it happen in Somers! More on Complete Streets

The Somers Library is located in Reis Park on the east side of Route 139,
about half-way between Route 100 and Route 202.

GPS users can use the following: 80 Primrose St., Katonah, New York
